Daniel Washington Graham 
Daniel Washington was born in 1842 in Mississippi.1 Daniel Washington's father was Reuben Calvin Graham and his mother was Nancy Roberts. His paternal grandparents were Robert,Jr. Graham and Christian Keahey. He had a brother and seven sisters, named Charles Robert, Mary Jane, Christian Elizabeth, Sarah Miranda, Martha Angeline, Rebecca Demarious, Nancy Ann Matilda and Amanda Texana. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 74 on February 28th, 1916 in Mart, Texas. He was buried in Mart, Mc Clennan Co., Texas.1 1 General Notes

Daniel bought land next to Amanda groom George W. McCann . Before he mar
ri ed Amanda. After Amanda's death he sold both his and Amanda's la
nd to a m an named Hillyard.
He joined Terry's Texas Ranges. The original Captain of the Rangers, R
ug us Young King , wrote a letter of recomendation, which is filed with h
is C ivil War Pension application.
Daniel's daughter tried to cash in his pension check, after his dea
th to p ay for his burial, but she was denied . The mortitians then wro
te a lett er to the pension board trying to collect some of the burial fe
e, but th ey were denied . This information is with Daniel's pension.
