Homer Travis was born on December 30th, 1909 in Mt. Home, Lincoln Co., Arkansas.1 Homer Travis' father was William Alexander Goins and his mother was Martha Susannah Keahey. His paternal grandparents are Jesse Goins and UNKNOWN Unknown; his maternal grandparents were James Jackson Keahey and Permelia Theodocia Campster. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Jessie Lee, James Edward, Elmer Eldridge, William Woodrow, Jay Kay, Ella Mae, Dorothy RV. and Mary Elizabeth. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 26 on April 10th, 1936 in Yorktown, Lincoln Co., Arkansas. He was buried in Holly Springs Cemetery, Star City, Lincoln Co., Arkansas.1 1 General Notes
