Gilbert Wade was born on January 16th, 1905 in Spring Creek, Gillespie Co., Texas.1 Gilbert Wade's father was Joseph Alvin Fairchild and his mother was Aetna Alwilda Taylor. His maternal grandparents were Amos Gayle,Rev. Taylor and Martha Matilida Graham. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Nilman Ishmael, Manley Franklin, Willie Vonzyl, Robert Earl, Olivia Lee, Burnecia Izora, Lillie Mae, Edith Glencoe, Lydia Marion, Ida Irene and Dorothy Lee. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 30 on June 18th, 1935 in San Angelo, Tom Green Co., Texas. He was buried in Eden Cemetery, Concho Co., Texas.1 1 General Notes
