William Bethel Durant 
William Bethel was born on May 21st, 1853 in Horry Co., South Carolina.1 William Bethel's father was Bethel,2nd Durant and his mother was Sarah Ann Rebecca Graham. His maternal grandparents were William Bellamy Graham and Jane Conner. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John Marsden, Daniel Brooks, Yancy Asbury, Henry Cornelius, Hannah Jane, Virginia Caroline, Mary Millicent and Sarah Martha. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 53 on April 26th, 1907 in Leon Co., Texas. He was buried in Liberty Cemetery.1 1 General Notes
