John Marsden Durant 
John Marsden was born on August 21st, 1854 in Horry Co., South Carolina.1 John Marsden's father was Bethel,2nd Durant and his mother was Sarah Ann Rebecca Graham. His maternal grandparents were William Bellamy Graham and Jane Conner. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William Bethel, Daniel Brooks, Yancy Asbury, Henry Cornelius, Hannah Jane, Virginia Caroline, Mary Millicent and Sarah Martha. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 16 on December 10th, 1870 in Leon Co., Texas. He was buried in Sand Hill Cemetery, Leon Co., Texas.1 1 General Notes
