Lucy Ann was born on August 10th, 1820 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Lucy Ann's father was Peter DeSpain and her mother was Nancy Skaggs. Her paternal grandfather was John DeSpain and her paternal grandmother is Susan Scott; her maternal grandfather was Henry Skaggs and her maternal grandmother is Mary Thompson. She had thirteen brothers and three sisters, named John M., Hiram, William Marshall, Stephen, Mark, James Simpson, Harrison, Silas, William Joseph, Thomas, Andrew Drury, Edmund, George Washington, Susanna Elizabeth, Mary and Nancy. She had a half-brother named William Perry. She died at the age of 76 in 1896 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 General Notes
