Edmund DeSpain 
Edmund was born in 1818 in Green Co., Kentucky.1 Edmund's father was Peter DeSpain and his mother was Nancy Skaggs. His paternal grandfather was John DeSpain and his paternal grandmother is Susan Scott; his maternal grandfather was Henry Skaggs and his maternal grandmother is Mary Thompson. He had twelve brothers and four sisters, named John M., Hiram, William Marshall, Stephen, Mark, James Simpson, Harrison, Silas, William Joseph, Thomas, Andrew Drury, George Washington, Susanna Elizabeth, Mary, Nancy and Lucy Ann.
