James Henry DeSpain 
James Henry was born on August 12th, 1835 in Indiana.1 James Henry's father was James Simpson DeSpain and his mother is Mary A. Roark. His paternal grandparents were Peter DeSpain and Nancy Skaggs. He had a brother and six sisters, named John M., Sarah Jane, Nancy, Elizabeth C., Mary Ann, Julia A. and Eliza J.. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 63 on February 16th, 1899 in Council Grove Cemetery, Morris Co., Kansas.1 General Notes
