William Nelson Bassham 
William Nelson was born on August 13th, 1912 in Bonham, Fannin Co., Texas.1 William Nelson's father was William Palestine (Bill) Bassham and his mother was Ida Mae Vansickle. His paternal grandparents were Francis Marion (Frank) Bassham and Louisa Lucretia (Lucy) Popnoe. He had four brothers and a sister, named Kenneth James, Roscoe Leon, Byron Demont (Dee), Shelton Cleo (Shelly) and Buena Vista. He was the youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 77 on February 4th, 1990 in Ft Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas.1 General Notes
