Florence Elyna was born on May 10th, 1892 in Floyd Co., Virginia.1 Florence Elyna's father was John Ellis Basham and her mother was Ellen Richards. Her paternal grandparents were Hillory H. Basham and Sarah Ridinger; her maternal grandparents are John Richards and Martha Harris. She had nine brothers and four sisters, named Nathan H., Brainard Hayden, George Kyle, Archie Leonard, Robert Letcher, John Taswell, Doc Roscoe (Peach), Harless, William Hubert, Carrrie, Leona Belle, Laura and Allie S..
