Elijah Basham 
Elijah was born about 1805 in Virginia.1 Elijah's father was John, Jr. Basham and his mother was Frances (Franky) Meadors. His paternal grandparents were John, Sr. Basham and Francis Susanna Unknown; his maternal grandparents were Jessee Meador and Lucy (Nancy?) Hix. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Warner, Nathan, Millender, Jonathan, John, Whorley, Margaret, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Mildred Susan and Matilda. He was the oldest of the twelve children.
