Daniel Dave was born on August 18th, 1877 in Franklin Co., Virginia.1 Daniel Dave's father was Jonathan Reed Basham and his mother was Nancy Jane Jenkins. His paternal grandparents were Millender Basham and Chelnessee Payne. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Nathan Garfield, John William (Will), James Harvey, Charles Moman, Ezra Powell, Octavy F., Mary Alice, Nancy Jane (Ginnie) and Sallie B.. He was the second oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 62 on November 5th, 1939 in Slabtown, Lamar Co., Texas.1 General Notes
