Addie Ruth was born on February 23rd, 1919 in Rockwall Co., Texas.1 Addie Ruth's father was John Henry Basham and his mother was Texas Ann Tennessee Sellers. His paternal grandparents were William Jonathan Basham and Loanzi Adelade Drummond. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Jesse Dewey (Joe), Ottie Wesley (Jimmy), Birty Lou Helen and Fay. He was the youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 2 on June 11th, 1921 in Rockwall Co., Texas.1 General Notes
