John Henry was born on September 20th, 1876 in Rockdale, Milam Co., Texas.1 John Henry's father was William Jonathan Basham and his mother was Loanzi Adelade Drummond. His paternal grandfather was John (Sequatchie) Basham and his paternal grandmother is Molly Unknown. He had a brother and two sisters, named William Oscar 'Willie', Mary Jane and Levina Catherine 'Katie'. He was the oldest of the four children. He died at the age of 84 on April 14th, 1961 in Rockwall, Rockwall Co., Texas.1 General Notes
