Marie Adelheid Ballman 
Marie Adelheid was born on September 23rd, 1814 in Schleptrup, Germany.1 Marie Adelheid's father was Johann Heinrich Ballmann and her mother was Anne Marie Vortman. Her paternal grandparents were Johann Ernst Ballmann [bJohann Ernst Vullbrack] and Anne Adelheid Ballman; her maternal grandparents were Johann Gerhard Vortmann and Marie Elisabeth Tiemann. She had a brother and five sisters, named Johann Friedrich Wilhelm, Anne Marie Dorothee Elisabeth, Anne Marie Engel, Anne Marie Margrethe Charlotte, Anne Marie Henriette and Anne Marie Amalie. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Hermann Heinrich, Johann Heinrich, Anne Marie Elisabeth and Anne Marie Elisabein.1 -
