Anne Marie Henriette was born on December 4th, 1823 in Schleptrup, Germany.1 Anne Marie Henriette's father was Johann Heinrich Ballmann and her mother was Anne Marie Vortman. Her paternal grandparents were Johann Ernst Ballmann [bJohann Ernst Vullbrack] and Anne Adelheid Ballman; her maternal grandparents were Johann Gerhard Vortmann and Marie Elisabeth Tiemann. She had a brother and five sisters, named Johann Friedrich Wilhelm, Anne Marie Dorothee Elisabeth, Marie Adelheid, Anne Marie Engel, Anne Marie Margrethe Charlotte and Anne Marie Amalie. She was the third youngest of the seven children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Hermann Heinrich, Johann Heinrich, Anne Marie Elisabeth and Anne Marie Elisabein.1 -
