Mary Ann was born in 1830 in North Carolina.1 Mary Ann's father was Levi Asher and her mother is Mary Newkirk. Her paternal grandfather was Batlett Asher and her paternal grandmother is Margaret Curry; her maternal grandfather is Peter Newkirk and her maternal grandmother was Mary Stafford. She had three brothers and a sister, named Tobias B., Marion Jasper, Barlett and Mary Catherine. She died at the age of 47 on September 24th, 1877 in Hutto, Tx..1 General Notes
