Clara was born on May 9th, 1836 in Mercer Co., VA.1 Clara's father is Jeremiah Meadows and her mother is Jane Catherine Steele. Her paternal grandparents are Jacob Meadows and MARY ARRINGTON. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Harvey Deskins, Henderson, Amanda, Ardelia, Lucrecia, Belinda and Virginia. She is the oldest of the eight children.-
