W. J. Heard 
W. J. was born on May 26th, 1833 in Mississippi.1 W. J.'s father was Hurd and his mother was Heard. His paternal grandparents were Hurd and Heard. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Stephen, Jesse Faulkner, Wyatt, Samuel, Keziah, Sophia Marilla and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 60 on October 30th, 1893 in Yazoo Co., Mississippi. He was buried after October 30th, 1893 in Heard Cemetery, Lynwood, Yazoo Co., MS.1 1 General Notes

Some speculative, Sophia in household in 1870 census is probably widow of Jesse Faulkner Heard.
William Franklin buried in Heard Cemetery, Yazoo Co. MS so it looks pretty good as a connection.
