Helene Decuir

Helene was born in 1818 in Pointe Coupee, Louisiana.¹ Helene's father was Jean Baptiste Dorsin Decuir and her mother was Helene Bourgeat. Her paternal grandparents were Jean Francois Decuir and Genevieve Mayeux; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Bourgeat and Marguerite Riche. She had two brothers and a sister, named Jean Baptiste, Jean Dorsin and Aspasie. She was the youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 2 on October 12th, 1820 in Pointe Coupee, Louisiana.¹
