Tazewell G was born about 1865 in Patrick Co., Virginia.¹ Tazewell G's father was JOHN Branch and his mother was LAVINIA E Vaughn. His paternal grandparents were JAMES Daniel Branch and KEZIAH HANCOCK; his maternal grandparents were THOMAS J. Vaughn and TABITHA Martin. He had four brothers and three sisters, named JAMES Thomas, John William, Flournoy, Hardin, Martha, Exoney and Emilene. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died in 1942 in Patrick Co., Virginia.¹
