Exoney was born about 1870 in Patrick Co., Virginia.¹ Exoney's father was JOHN Branch and her mother was LAVINIA E Vaughn. Her paternal grandparents were JAMES Daniel Branch and KEZIAH HANCOCK; her maternal grandparents were THOMAS J. Vaughn and TABITHA Martin.
