Rufus Franklin Bassett 
Rufus Franklin was born on December 31st, 1871 in New Prospect, Rusk County, Texas.1 Rufus Franklin's father was WILLIAM Parnell Bassett and his mother was Vandoosan Jones. His paternal grandparents were John Bassett and AGATHA Heard. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Therad Sam Houston, Earnest, Parnell, Lee, Martha, Stella, Pearl and Emma Sundae. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He had four half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Isaac Newton, John Thomas, Robert William, James F., Amanda S., Nancy F., Agatha Josephine, ELLA A. and Sallie Lavenia. He died at the age of 61 on February 18th, 1933 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas.1 -
