Her paternal grandfather was Isaac Bailey and her paternal grandmother is Judy Cooke. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Lewis A., John Alexander, Isaac N., Mary Ann, Eleanor and Margaret Orilla. She is the fourth oldest of the seven children. She has three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Thomas Jasper, Garner C., Henry Luther, Martha and Elizabeth.-
