David was born in 1736 in ,Louisa Co,Virginia.  David's father was Samuel Thompson and his mother is Temperance UNKNOWN. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named ROBERT, Thomas, Samuel, William, Joseph, John, Asa, Sarah and Elizabeth.  He was the third youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 33 in November 1769.
