John Greenberry was born in 1815 in Sissonville,Kanawha,W. Virginia.1 John Greenberry's father was Samuel Greenberry Samuels and his mother was Esther Slack. His paternal grandfather was Shadrack Samuels; his maternal grandfather was Philip Slack and his maternal grandmother is Sarah UNKNOWN. He had seven sisters named Martha, Mary Polly, Emily, Sarah Catherine, Nancy, Rachel and Rebecca. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 53 on March 10th, 1868 in Kanawha Co., WV.-
