Lydia Elizabeth was born in 1845 in Kanawha Co., VA.1 Lydia Elizabeth's father was John Greenberry Samuels and her mother was Nancy Emeline Lacy. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Greenberry Samuels and Esther Slack; her maternal grandparents were Caleb Lacy and Lucy Lydia Horton. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Cabel Taylor G., David H., John Frye, Laura Lavinia, Mary Emma, Julia Ann, Nancy and Henrietta Rebecca. She was the third oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 46 on May 7th, 1891 in Kanawha Co., WV.-
