Lydia Ann was born on October 19th, 1840 in , Warren Co, Tennessee. Lydia Ann's father was John Wesley SHELTON and her mother was SARAH EMALINE HAMBY. Her paternal grandparents were Jessee SHELTON and Lydia KEELE; her maternal grandparents are Eli William HAMBY and SARAH LEWIS. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Jesse Ransom, Eli Washington, John Bartley, Sarah Lucinda, Mary Ann, Matilda Frances, David Elizabeth and Narsissa Emaline. She was the oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 60 on October 16th, 1901 in , Coffee Co, Tennessee.General Notes
