Philmore J was born in 1828 in , Bedford, TN. Philmore J's father was Filmon (Filinca) Keele and his mother was Margaret A Box. His paternal grandparents were John Keele and Nancy Green; his maternal grandfather was Edward Box and his maternal grandmother is Nancy UNKNOWN. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Martin Green Clay, Jesse Morris, Richard "Richmond", Milton Jackson, Thompson, Mathias Washington, Elsie Caroline, Margaret (Margy) and Tabitha\ Talitha. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died before 1860.-
