OBITUARY-
John Herbert Glover was born December 23, 1883 to Martha and James Glover at Holden, Missouri and departed this life October 3, 1968, at the age of 84 years, 9 months, 3 days, at the Beaver Memorial Hospital in Beaver, Oklahoma. He had been in failing health since January and entered the hospital just a little over two weeks ago on September 18.
In 1898 the family moved from Holden, Missouri to a farm near Buhler, Kansas coming there by covered wagon. They resided there for several years. In 1913 he purchased their present farm in the Greenough community.
On September 21, 1916 he was married to Marie Dotts at Hutchinson, Kansas. They had their 52nd wedding anniversary during his stay in the hospital. He brought his bride to their first home which was a dugout. They later built their present home.
He was a member of the Bethel Church of God and had a great interest in the welfare of the church. He loved the people dearly.
He was a member of the Greenough school board for several years and took a great interest in community affairs. He loved to watch basketball games and never missed unless he wasn't able to go.
He devoted his entire life to his family and his farming, retiring at the age of 75 years.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Marie; two daughters, Mrs. Oscar Olson Jr., Liberal, and Mrs. Carl Huling, Turpin; two sons-in-law, Oscar Olson, Liberal and Carl Huling, Turpin; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Tommy and Bobby Olson and Sandra, Max and usan Huling; one brother, Fred Glover, Hutchinson, Kansas; four sisters, Mrs. Stella Dunsworth, Ashtabula, Ohio; Mrs. Arletta Blosser, Florence, Kansas; Mrs. Lillian Rigney, Liberal; Mrs. Hazel Stahl, Del Norte, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Anne, two sons, who all died in infancy and two brothers.
He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.
