Essex Epperson 
Essex was born in 1807 in Washington, Tennessee. Essex's father was Antony Epperson and his mother was Ellender Divers. His paternal grandparents were Anthony Epperson and Susannah Holland. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Aphrey, Peter, Ananias, Silas Anthony, James, Smithfield F., Mary Edna (Polly), Elizabeth, Sarah and Phebe. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 52 on August 20th, 1859 in Marion County , Illinois.-
