William Chitwood 
William was born in 1813 in Franklin Co.,Virginia. William's father was Squire Chitwood and his mother was Mary Wray. His paternal grandparents were William CHITWOOD and Susannah Nowlin. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Edmund, Stephen, M. Bostic, Green, Angeran, Leonard C., Elenor and Susan Matilda. He is the third oldest of the nine children.General Notes
