Amey was born about 1704 in Va. Amey's father was Henry CLAY and her mother was Mary MITCHELL. Her paternal grandparents were Charles CLAY and Hannah WILSON; her maternal grandfather was William MITCHELL and her maternal grandmother is Elizabeth INNES. She had six brothers and three sisters, named William Mitchell, William Mitchell, Henry, Charles, John, John, Martha, Amey and Mary. She is the second oldest of the ten children.General Notes
