Richard Bramham (Branham): born circa 1728 in Spotsylvania County,
Virginia; served as Sergeant in the First Virginia Regiment, Frenchand
Indian War, in Spotsylvania County, in the year 1758; received abounty
of land for his service on February 17, 1780; (7) was an appraiser in
Dunmore County (8) on November 29, 1775; (9) was commissioned asJustice on
Donmore County, by Governor Patrick Henry on August 27, 1778; (10) was
tax-payer and census-taker in Shenandoah County, in 1782, at whichtime his
family consisted of sic persons; (11) was on a list of slave-owners in1783
and 1785. (12).
