David , Sr. Branham 
David , Sr. was born about 1735 in Farnham Parish of Richmond, Orange, Virginia.1 David , Sr.'s father was John Branham and his mother was Rachel Webb Gower. His paternal grandparents were Richard Branham and Ann Hobbs. He had ten brothers and two sisters, named Nathaniel, Benjamin J., Spencer Thaddaus, Richard III, Tavener Turner, Gaydon Gradyson, James Webb, Daniel, Jonathan, John M, Elizabeth Betty and Susannah. He died about 1825 in Big Mud Creek, Floyd Co, Kentucky. He was buried in Mouth Little Mud, Floyd, Kentucky.1 1 General Notes
David Branham, Senior served in the Revolutionary War as a MilitiaMan in the Montgomery County, VA Militia in Capt. John Isom's Company,as did James Branham who may have been his younger brother.

The Settlements of Carroll County Virginia 1765-1815 p. 38: Branham isone of the few early settlers on Burks Fork who did not stay. Nothingis known of his anti-decedents. The Land Commission records indicatethe he settled a 260A tract in 1772 which ultimately became TrumansFarm. Branham had it surveyed in 1774, but, never took the grant toit, selling his rights to the Quaker Silas Williams.
David Branham was in the Montgomery Militia, along with a JamesBranham in Capt. Johathan Isham's Co. But, he does not appear on theearlier Muster of Capt. Babbitt. Although he was still taxed inMontgomery County in 1790 it is likely he had moved to Little River inFloyd Co.KY (Formed from Montgomery Co., VA in abt. 1800) for he had asurvey there in 1789 as well as another on Greasy Creek in 1786. DavidBranham's original tract of 260A had a small St stream which passedthrough it in route to Burks Fork. Today it is called Brannon*sBranch.

David Branham, Sr. was born between 1730 and 1736 in Richmond Co VA.He served in the military on 28 Apr 1778 in Montgomery Co VA. He wasa member of Captain Jonathan Isom's militia company. He was enteredin court documents about Apr 1798 in Montgomery Co VA. "In the matterof Solomon Akers vs David Branham; trespassing/assault/battery. Damage$1000 not executed by order of Solomon Akers - case dismissed." Hedied before Feb 1825 in Floyd Co KY. He owned 221 acres on GreasyCreek according to the 28 July 1786 tax list of Montgomery Co. VA. On19 November 1789 he owned 179 acres on the south side of Little Riverin Montgomery Co., about one-half mile above Big Falls. He witnessedthe sale of 200 acres from Augustus Godsey of Montgomery to John SmithBaisden of Wythe Co. VA in 1797. He was married to Frances Baskettabout 1756.
