General Notes

In the highlands of West Riding, Yorkshire, England is to be foundthe Parish and Manor of Branham.  In this parish is Branham Church,the earliest register of which begins in 1592.  The Manor, presidedover by Branham Hall, was a Crown Manor and continued to be until theyear 1678. The name signifies "high pastures".  The name Branham is ofEnglish origin, characterized by the "ham" suffix.  There are howeversome Irish Branhams-Brannums, Branums, of whom emigrated from Englandoriginally.
