Martin Wilford was born on November 1st, 1863 in Fairview, Sanpete, Utah, USA and his baptism took place there on February 21st, 1864. Martin Wilford's father was James Martin Allred and his mother was Mary Francis Vance. His paternal grandparents were Isaac Allred and Julia Ann Taylor. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Isaac Willard, George Alma, Ernest Rudolphus, Lawrence, Leroy Edgar, Martha Ellen, Anna Eliza, Sarah Frances, Mary Arletta and Minnie Elzina. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He had eight half-brothers and three half-sisters, named James Christopher, John Frank, Emanuel Andres, Lewis, Junius Sidney, Leegrand, Frederick Homer, Dorcas Amelia, Mary Elizabeth, Anna M. and Ida May.
