William Vanzant 
William was born on February 12th, 1857 in Gore Bay, Gordon Township, Manitoulin Dist., Ontario Canada. William's father was Henry Vanzant and his mother was Margeret Yake. His maternal grandparents were John Yake and Sarah Long. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Henry, Garrett, Abraham, George, Albert, Lydia, Hannah, Louisa, Elizabeth and Mary Ann. He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 43 on August 19th, 1900 in Sault Ste. Marie, Algoma District, Ontario, Canada.-
