Olive Ray was born on April 21st, 1894. Olive Ray's father was Henry Vanzant and her mother was Rachel (Annie) Gourley. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Vanzant and Margeret Yake. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named William John Henry, Roy, Clayton D, Margaret Jane, Rosannah May, Edith May, Kate, Carelinie, Harriet Lelena, Gladys Cladine and Blanche.-
