Edith May was born on January 23rd, 1885. Edith May's father was Henry Vanzant and her mother was Rachel (Annie) Gourley. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Vanzant and Margeret Yake. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named William John Henry, Roy, Clayton D, Margaret Jane, Rosannah May, Kate, Carelinie, Harriet Lelena, Olive Ray, Gladys Cladine and Blanche.-
