David Sabin 
David was born on May 8th, 1769 in Massachusettes, USA.1 David's father was Joshua Sabin and his mother was Mary Sabin. His paternal grandparents were Ebenezer Sabin and Susanna; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin Sabin and Elizabeth Davis. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named Abishai, Joshua (Jr.), Stephen, Walter, Sylvanus, Susannah, Mary, Phethena, Lucy, Mary, Alice and Elizabeth. He had a half-sister named Mary. He died at the age of 83 on June 20th, 1852 in Jackson Twp, Knox, Ohio, USA. He was buried in Bladensburg Cem, there.1 1 General Notes

The first appearance of this man we have been able to find is in the 1820
census of Finley Twp, Washington, PA where he was enumerated with 1 male + 45, 1 male 26-45 , 2 males 10-16 and 2 males 0-10 plus 1 female +45, 2 females 16-26 and 1 female 0-10 for a t otal of 10. He lived between
William Beale & James Hill. This couple was enumerated in the 1850 census
of Jackson Twp, Knox, OH and a facsimile of that sheet is included as
Appendix A.
Inasmuch as Phyllis Douglas has discovered the grave site of David and Mary in the village o f Bladensburg, Jackson Twp, Knox, OH and the inscription on his grave reads David Sabin, Sr . there no longer seems any doubt about that aspect. Since this
gravestone gives his death date and age at death, it was easy to calculate his birth. (83-1-1 2) This may make it easier to pin point his place of birth and parents in time. David Sabi n purchased 40 acres of land in Knox Co, Township 5 (Jackson) on 11

[Note from Phyllis Douglas] I have long thought that most or even all of the family of Davi d Sabin were involved with Alexander Campbell (Campbellites) before they left Washington, PA . And there appears to be more & more evidence of this (other than
Rhoda and Daniel's). A history of Knox Co, OH states that Bladensburg was the only village i n Jackson Twp. That it was laid out in 1833. In this same history it states "it is a matter o f record that the first church of this denomination (Disciples of
Christ) in OH was organized in Jackson Twp, Knox Co, in Aug 1828. The church was formed by El ijah Harris (who sold land to Daniel), Washington Houck and John Wheeler and their wives." Jo hn Wheeler later removed to IA. I believe that this family
followed Alexander Campbell to OH and it is even possible that Isaiah Evan Sabin, plus some C ampbells and Frazee's followed John Wheeler to IA.
