Richard was born in 1598 in Stepney, Middlesex, England.1 Richard's father was Richard Wright and his mother was Frances. His paternal grandparents were Richard Wright and Agneta Budder. He had six brothers named Francis, Theodore, John, Samuel, Nathaniel and Anthony. He was the oldest of the seven children.
