Randle was born about 1398 in Over-Peover, Cheshire, England.1 Randle's father was Randle Mainwaring and his mother was Margery De Venables. His paternal grandparents were William Mainwaring and Elizabeth Leycester; his maternal grandparents were 9th Baron of Kinderton de Venables Hugh and Margery Cotton. He had three brothers and six sisters, named John, William, Ralph, Elizabeth, Margarey, Cecily, Joan, Ellen and Agnes. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.
