Agnes was born about 1406 in Over-Peover, Cheshire, England.1 Agnes' father was Randle Mainwaring and her mother was Margery De Venables. Her paternal grandparents were William Mainwaring and Elizabeth Leycester; her maternal grandparents were 9th Baron of Kinderton de Venables Hugh and Margery Cotton. She had four brothers and five sisters, named John, William, Randle, Ralph, Elizabeth, Margarey, Cecily, Joan and Ellen. She was the second youngest of the ten children.
