Oliver (Punk) Wendell was born on January 25th, 1908 in Garrison, Iowa.1 Oliver (Punk) Wendell's father was William Frederick Klein and his mother was Anna Sophia Reiss. His maternal grandparents were George Reiss and Wilhelmina Anthes. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Walter Ezra, Frederick, Sherman George, Marion Louis, Elizabeth Marie, Alice Elfreda and Luella Marianne. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 73 on December 6th, 1981 in Ellsworth, Pierce Co., Wisconsin. Oliver Wendell Klein was Born January 25, 1908 in Garrison, Iowa. He married Ruth Johnson October 14, 1936 in Vasa, Minnesota. Ruth was born September 26, 1918, daughter of John M Johnson and Bertina Fredsvold. Eight children were born of the marriage: Barbara Jane, Patricia Ann, Joan Marie, Richard William, Carol Rose, Walter Steven, Jeffrey Paul, Donald Allen

Oliver W. Klein, 73, died unecpected1y of a heart attack Sunday evening at his home in Ellsworth Township.,
A memorial service was held at 2 P.M. Wednesday in Ellsworth First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Paul Martin officiating.
Born Jan.25, 1908 in Garrison, Iowa, he was the son of William F and Anna Klein. The family moved to Ellsworth in 1914 where he attended schools. He married Ruth Johnson of Ellsworth in 1936. HE and been employed as a carpenter in the Twin Cities area until his retirement in 1971.
Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Barbara Herum of Dubuque, Iowa; Pat Wasserman of Skokie, Ill., Joan DeGross of Ellsworth and Carol Ehlert of North Branch, Minn.; three sons, Dick, Jeff and Don, all of Ellsworth; 15 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Sherman of Ellsworth and Marion of Pacoima, Calif,; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Canfield of Ellsworth; Mrs. Alice Wiff of Spring Valley, Mrs. Mildred Gilbertson of Beldenville and Mrs. Luella Schwalen of Salem, Ore.
