Lambert I was born about 0952 in Louvain, Brabant, Belgium and his baptism took place in France.1 Lambert I's father was Regnier III of Hainault and his mother was Adele of Louvain Toxandrie. His paternal grandparents were Rainer II Count Hainault and Adelaide Of Burgundy; his maternal grandparents were Count Of Ringleheim Lambert and Dau of Ricfrid Von Betuwe. He had a brother named Rainer IV of. He was the younger of the two children. He died on September 12th, 1015 in battle near Florennes. He was buried in the cloister of St. Gertrud, at Nivelles.1 1 General Notes
