John Akkerman 
John was born on October 20th, 1898 in Grundy County, Iowa, USA.1 John's father was Oltman Akkerman and his mother was Clara Fluth. His maternal grandparents were Jacob Janson Fluth and Dswer Hagan Aaren. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Mike, Jacob, Edward, Thomas, Oltman, Henry, Dever, Tille (Topke), Anna and Helena. He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 82 on December 12th, 1980 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, USA.1 General Notes
