Isabelle was born about 1288 in Strathbogie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Isabelle's father was John de Strathbogie and her mother was Margaret (Marjory) (Mary) de Mar. Her maternal grandparents were Donald de Mar and Helen verch Llywelyn. She had a brother named David I. She was the older of the two children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named William, Nicholas and Eustachia. She died before June 1317 in Carrick, Argyllshire, Scotland.-
