? was born about 1228 in Badenoch, Inverness-shire, Scotland.  ?'s father was John I "the Red" Comyn and her mother was Amabilia (Eva).  Her paternal grandfather was Richard Comyn. She had a brother and two sisters, named John II "The Black", ? and ?.  She was the oldest of the four children.

They had two sons named Reginald and Henry.
