*James Wright m. Abigail Jess (or Jesse or Jese) m. on Jan 18, 1664/65 in Northampton, Hampshire Co, MA. James was born abt.1638 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA and D. abt. 1723 in Northhampton, Hampshire Co., MA. James was a devout Christian. They went from Springfield to Northampton in 1656. The "home lot" there, four acres, came to him by bequest of his father. From James, who occupied it 48 years, it passed in 1711 to his sons, Preserved & Seth. In 1799, 143 years after it came into the family Seth sold it. James was in the "Falls Fight, at Turner's Falls, Mass. in 1675. Abigail was b. March 1, 1644/5 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA and D. May 24, 1707 in Northhampton, Hampshire Co., MA. Her parents were William Jesse/Jess and ?. James and Abigail had at least 10 children. They were Abigail (died a child)), Helped (never married)), James Jr.(died young)), Lydia (died in infancy)), Samuel (a Deacon and very influential member of the Northampton church, later moved to Lebanon, New London Co., CT, m. Eliza/Elizabeth "Betsey" Smith, the famous "Wright Brothers" descend from them)), Preserved (inherited the homestead of his father and his grandfather and lived there during his lifetime, m. Sarah Hannum/Flauman, had at least 5 children, Ephraim (served in the Rev. War, and knew George Washington before he became the first President of the United States, m.#1 Miriam Wright; m. #2 Abigail Clark Sprague), Preserved (died a child), Moses (died young), Sarah (m. Asahel/Ashel Clapp) and Preserved Jr. (died young)), Jonathan (moved to Union, Tolland Co., CT, m. #1 Experience Edwards, had at least 7 children, Jonathan Jr. (m. Abiah Keep), Hepzibah (died in infancy), James, Experience (m. Mark Warner III), Simon (died in infancy/child?), Hannah and Seth C.
